Social Security recipients who have reached full retirement age will be eligible to receive $2,053 per month in benefits, according to indexed amounts released by the Social Security Administration. This represents an increase of $114 from 2005.
With this year’s 4.1% Cost-of-Living Adjustment, retired workers will receive an average of $1,002 per month in 2006 (up from $963 in 2005). The average aged couple with both spouses receiving benefits will collect $1,648 per month (up from $1,583 in 2005).
